Simple Ways to Exercise
Simple Ways to Exercise... every bit helps!
If you have more than 25 pounds to lose, or you just want to move things a long a bit, then you will have to move your body!
Now, you are thinking... "oh great, now I have to get all sweaty and buy workout clothes".. NOT.. If you prefer this route, then go for it, but for me, I needed to do something that I could fit in my lifestyle... I wouldn't even change my clothes..
I admit it... I LOVE to watch TV or rent movies in the evening. It is my time, and I don't really want to trade that off.
So... here is the plan. You get off the couch ONLY during commercials. You either dance around the room, or lift a couple of 2 pound weights (bottles of soda work for this too!). or run up the stairs. Just enough to get that heart of yours pounding a bit. Compete with yourself, see how many things you can do before your show comes back on, then sit back down. .
This is when commercials, are NOT a bad thing... You will be amazed at how many minutes of exercise you can fit in, during a one hour show. (Since there are tons of annoying commercials!)
Another great way, if you can swing the money, is to purchase a stepper of some kind. You can keep it right there, and jump on it during commercial breaks... Here is a great example of one, that I found online. You can click on it for more information if you want, or to see other great ideas that you could use, to keep your weightloss goals moving along.

Walk.. Walk the Dog, or Someone Else's Dog!
If you can.. try walking. This is another great and simple way to lose weight. Along with the simple diet changes, a few walks here and there are going to keep this weightloss going. If you say... "I HATE walking" then try breaking it down into 10 minute segments. If you work in an office, try getting up and making more trips to the copier, or take the stairs if you can, or park further away.
But from my experience, I found taking the dog for a longer walk, then just letting him out the door for his business! Your dog will love you, it is good for him and good for you. If you do not have a dog, walk a friend's dog, or volunteer at your local animal shelter. Most shelters, would love a volunteer to take their dogs for walks. This way you could set a date, and because you have agreed to it. You HAVE to do it.
This is a great way to get some walks in, especially if you have committed to someone else, such as a friend or the animal shelter.. there will be no more of that "maybe tomorrow I will start" business!. Find a friend who wants to walk with you around the block, in a park, or something, and think of a reward afterwards to make it worthwhile (not ice cream!) maybe go shopping, start picking out those killer outfits you are woking towards!
One thing to remember... ALL MOVEMENT HELPS! ... Don't let anyone tell you, that the only way to get exercise, is to join a gym, or lift super heavy weights, or run for miles until you collapse! or worse yet, take pills or cut out food groups.. If this is your thing... then power to you.. I am NO expert here, but I am telling you.. this worked for me, and it still does. I still get up during commercials, and use my stepper and I feel great. At first you may feel a bit sore, but I am telling you.. stick with it, because you will FEEL GREAT, as the weight slowly comes off, and you improve your stamina with your simple easy exercises.
A little walk here, and step or two there, park further away, walk a dog, or simply move during commericials. Or try renting a dance video, or anything that you would like to do that gets you moving... BE PATIENT.... PAT YOURSELF ON THE BACK.. AND KEEP AT IT.
You will soon look great in that "killer outfit"
