How Many Calories Are In An Apple?

If you have been asking yourself as you munch on that big apple, just how many calories are in an apple?

Then here is your answer:

Apples are found in many different sizes, so of course the calorie counts will be different.  Keep in mind that apples deliver a lot more than just calories.  They are good for your whole body.

Research has shown they are good for slowing down the aging process, and giving your body lots of fibre and good vitamins and much more.  Plus they are a good choice if you are hungry just before a meal, or even as a great dessert.

But you asked “how many calories are in an apple right? Sorry, I just get excited by apples as I eat at least two of them a day to help maintain my weight loss.

Small apples = 77 calories

Medium apples = 95 calories

Large apples = 116 calories (but they can really fill you up!)

They contain lots of vitamin C and other vitamins.

So, if you are now disappointed because a large apple is the same as a cookie.  Just think about what you are putting in your body.  That one cookie will not last long.  The sugar alone will send you on a roller coaster ride, that will have you looking for something else an hour from now or sooner.  Plus one cookie will taste like two or three!.

It will take you longer to eat the apple than the cookie.  So, when you are trying to figure out your calories for the day, you can’t just simply eat 1700 calories of garbage or junk foods to get healthy, you need to include good natural foods such as this power house called an apple.

Personally this has helped me to keep my weight off.  I will quite often pair up a small to medium apple with a tablespoon of natural peanut butter, and will last until my next meal.  Pairing up an apple with a bit of protein such as 6 almonds or a light piece of cheese such as those little gouda lights (low fat and low calorie) makes a great snack alternative.

Try and eat before you get hungry.  If you can make sure and have something every few hours to keep things going.  You don’t want to skip snacks and then be famished and eat everything in sight come dinner.

Using fruits and veggies in your snacks is a great and simple way to lose weight.
