Lose Weight With Yoga

Yoga For Weight Loss for Beginners
Have you seen yoga, and wondered does yoga help you lose weight?  The answer is YES.

It is true, you are not leaping around at high speed or running down the street filled with sweat, but you are stretching and deep breathing, and many of the poses take incredible strength to hold.

But before you hit the back button, thinking this is not for me.  You should really try it.

You can get all kinds of books on losing weight with yoga, or you can also get lots of DVDs but, I personally found a great way to get introduced to this, is to take a class.

Find a class for your age group and experience.  Find a beginners yoga class if you have never done this before, and see if you can drag a friend with you.

I did this.  I was convinced to go by a friend, and was nervous the whole day, that I would screw up and fall over and make a fool of myself.  But I was anxious for nothing.  The instructor was simply excited that I made the decision to try it.

You can get yoga mats and special clothes, but I simply borrowed a mat from the instructor and I wore shorts and a t-shirt.  You do this in bare feet anyways, so you don’t have to spend big bucks to join yoga.

I found her voice and the stretches really helped my body calm down.  I learned to monitor breathing and get rid of all stresses.  By the time we were done I felt rejuvenated and flexible!

So, yes you can lose weight with yoga.  Not only does it make you feel more limber, you now feel like you can take on other exercise without pain and you feel stronger.

So, does yoga help you lose weight? Yes it does.  If you are just starting out in fitness, then consider a bit of walking and some yoga before anything else that is really strenuous.  You want your body to get used to movement and you want to get those muscles stretching and working for you, and you need to feel good about your inner self, and I found yoga to do just that.

So, give it a try, and include it in some of your exercise routines, and you will be on the road to fitness and weight loss before you know it.  Keeping limber is a great way to help you avoid falls too as you get older, so start now, and get that body moving.

So, if you are looking to add more exercise to your day, then consider adding yoga.  You don’t have to get into all the complicated poses there are some simple ones that can be done every  day.  Actually I use some of these stretches and poses for after a workout.  They are great for getting the kinks out.
