Calorie Calculators - Use a Food Calorie Calculator To Lose Weight

If you would prefer to count calories to drop a few pounds, then you should try using calorie calculators.  These are amazing little gadgets that will give you a quick calorie count for most of the foods you eat during the day and are free.

This way you can find out quickly at a glance where you may be absorbing a few too many calories.

The basic math behind calorie counting, is that 3500 calories = one pound.  If you wish to lose one pound of fat, then you need to get rid of 3500 calories.  In a week, that would mean finding 500 calories per day to get rid of, whether through food restrictions or exercise.  Combining the both would be an ideal way to lose some weight, as exercise helps to keep your body revved up and burn more calories even while at rest.

Below is a little Food Calorie Calculator that will give you a very quick idea of just how many calories you are consuming.  The best way to use these calorie calculators is to enter everything you are eating right now.  Start with today’s food and see how many calories you are eating during a day.  Then play with it, to see where you could possibly cut back to save a few calories.

If you don’t want to deprive yourself of some of your favourite foods, then maybe cut back on the portion size, or do what I did, and that is basically change out the brands of some of your foods.

Check the nutrition label on some of your most favourite food brands and see if you can find one similar with lower calories.  If you want to take this slow, you could simply try and find 250 calories in your day to get rid of and lose one pound every two weeks (or two pounds a month which adds up nicely after a year!)

These calorie counters are free and a fun way to get started on your own health and exercise regime.  No one else is going to look after your health more than you are.  It is your responsibility.  Arm yourself with information and then set your own goals.  You can do this for free at home with regular everyday foods and then try adding 10 minutes here and there of exercise.

You don’t have to wait until you have 45 minutes to exercise you can fit it in during your day and get as much benefit.  So, start making a few tweaks.  Maybe change out the brand of your bread or cookies, or use some low fat dairy.  If you get a good decent brand of low fat cheese and dairy, you will not notice the difference and you will save calories and fat.

So, check out the food calorie calculator here, and then also check out the BMI calculator and then head over to the weight loss simulator and the Calorie Burner Calculator and see where you stand, or check out how I did it on the home page.  These calculators will give you a good idea of what direction to head in next.
